Church of Blessed Virgin Mary’s Assumption into heaven (Vytautas Magnus church)



Is the oldest church in early Gothic monument in Kaunas. Today, Vytautas Magnus University Grand Auditorium – one of the most beautiful and the best acoustic halls in the city.


St. Michael the Archangel’s Church



Or the Garrison Church is a Roman Catholic church in Kaunas, Lithuania, closing the perspective of the Laisvės alėja, the main pedestrian street. It was built between 1891 and 1895 in Neo-Byzantine style for the garrison of Kaunas Fortress.

Vilnius bishop Abraham Vain in 1639 allowed Jesuits to establish his monastery in Kaunas and in 1666 it had been starte to build a church.
