COMPETITION CATEGORIES

 

Competition is intended for amateur choirs, ensembles and orchestras.

Two types of competition:

  • Choir Competition
  • Orchestra Competition

 

Choir competition a cappella

A

children’s choirs up to 16 years

B

youth and students’ choirs up to 25 years (SA) / (TB) / (SATB)

C

adult choirs (SA) / (TB) / (SATB)

D

Ensembles up to 16 singers (SA) / (TB) / (SATB)

 

A,B,C,D categories participants perform the following program:

 

  • Classic repertoire piece (1600 – 1920)
  • Your own country composer piece
  • 1-2 free choosen pieces.

 

Special categories competition

E 

childrens’/ youth / adult choirs and ensembles (SA) / (TB) / (SATB)

F 

childrens’/ youth / adult choirs and ensembles (SA) / (TB) / (SATB)

 

  • Category E participants perform 15 minutes of free sacred music program a cappella.
  • Category F perform folk/pop/jazz/gospel/spirituels/barbershop music of 15 minutes of free program. The use of idiophonic or ethnological or historically justified instruments is allowed.

 

 

  • All kinds of orchestras can participate in the competition (symphonic orchestra, folk music orchestra, wood and brass band, Marching Band, percussion ensemble, Jazz band, Chamber Orchestra/Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra of Folk Music/Ensembles etc.)

 

Orchestra competition

O1

children’s orchestras and ensembles up to 16 years

O2

 youth and students’ orchestras and ensembles up to 25 years

O3

adult orchestras and ensembles

 

Participants of O1, O2, O3 categories perform the following program:

 

  • Classic repertoire piece (1600 – 1920)
  • Your own country composer piece
  • 1-2 free choosen pieces.
