In anticipation of the hustle and bustle of the evening’s concerts, we invite choir directors to lectures by festival guests Jan Schumacher and Singer Pur Ensemble. Competent lecturers will share their knowledge and many years of experience in the field of choral music.
The Singer Pur ensemble was founded in 1991 and continues its musical activities to this day. The composition of the ensemble, as its members emphasize, is somewhat unusual: a soprano, three tenors, a baritone and a bass sing in the ensemble. The repertoire of the ensemble is characterized by a wide range of styles. In the programs performed by the ensemble, one can hear everything that can be done in voice from medieval times to the avant-garde.
Jan Schumacher is Professor of Conducting at J. Goethe University, Darmstadt Academy of Music, and leader and conductor of many ensembles in Germany. Jan Schumacher conducts masterclasses in most European countries, the United States, Venezuela, the Philippines, and the rest of the world. The conductor is a frequent member of the commission at various international choir competitions and festivals, and is now also the Vice President of the International Federation of Choral Music.
